Marc Mackay - Founder of Mackay Carpentry
Back in the early eighties, my mother renovated a derelict property next to what is is now the City Farm in St. Werburghs. The entire project cost around £21K and proved to me and others what can be achieved with elbow grease, initiative, and intelligent design
From then on our family worked with and for people who wanted something similar. In 2002 my mum and I finished building my house on the self-build site in St Werburghs, which laid the foundations for what is now one of the most unique and desirable areas of Bristol. This showcased to the world that more sustainable, functional and beautiful homes can be built with local craftsman and grassroots determination.
These experiences have come to shape how Mackay Carpentry works today, producing quality work sustainably, efficiently, and beautifully.
